Our story - The story of Milk Bar

When I (Elena) became a mom for the first time in 2021 to twins — now a mom of two sets of twins — I discovered how hard it is to find real essentials. Not just stuff, but products that truly make your life as a parent easier.

In many baby stores, you see endless shelves full of products, but as a customer, you mostly feel a bit lost. What do you really need? What is useful for your family? And what is just smart marketing? I missed guidance, honest tips, and someone who simply listens, even after the birth.

From that frustration — and with the desire to actually support other parents — the idea for something new grew.
What if there was a place where parents are truly helped?
Where only carefully chosen products can be found?
And where you as a mom or dad are not forgotten?

The idea wouldn’t let go. Yet it wasn’t an obvious choice. At the time, I worked as a lawyer in an international company, with a good salary and nice benefits. When I shared my plans with my parents, they were initially hesitant:“What do you want to do now? You have a good degree and a steady job…”
I understood their concern, but the urge kept growing. Entrepreneurship is in my blood — and deep down I knew I wanted to create something that really made a difference for parents like me.

After much deliberation, I decided to take the leap. Soon my brother Louis, my sister Anna, and my mom also got excited. We started small — with a webshop, a blog full of honest information, and an Instagram page to inspire other parents. Meanwhile, I still worked full-time as a lawyer, but the feeling that we were building something valuable together gave me energy.

In 2022, Milk Bar was truly born: a small, cozy baby store in the heart of Mol — 65 m² full of carefully chosen products and personal stories. A place where parents felt heard.

But the community grew quickly. And with that growth came the dream to do more: more space, more experience, more connection.

Today we are building the next step in that story:
a full-fledged Milk Bar concept store, with not only a spacious shop but also a versatile space for workshops, expert sessions, and events for parents and children.

Because Milk Bar is now much more than a store. It’s a family story — of a mom with a dream, supported by her family. And it’s a warm community where parents find each other, inspire, and grow. We hope to welcome you soon to our Milk Bar Family.
