Why do I need a feeding pillow?

In Germany, almost every mother has been using a feeding pillow for many years. Often these practical aids are already bought during pregnancy or given as gifts before the baby is born. So what could be more obvious than for the users themselves to have their say and quote from one of the many experience reports found on the Internet:
"When I was pregnant, once the day came where every sleeping position was simply uncomfortable. Quickly I had arrived at the Theraline brand feeding pillows, because they promised that they were particularly quiet ... It was a completely different sleeping feeling. ... The pillow is suitable already during pregnancy, indispensable during feeding time and can also be used perfectly well later for reading or the like." (Source: online rating at dooyoo)

When do I buy a feeding pillow?

It's best in the 6th or 7th month of your pregnancy. Because: the earlier, the sooner you grant your belly and legs the pleasant support and relaxation you need for a relaxing sleep.

How big should the pillow be?

A nursing pillow can hardly be big enough for pregnancy. But the right filling is also important so that the pillow supports you stably and comfortably in any position. A large pillow is also advantageous later, e.g. during breastfeeding, lying down or if you want to breastfeed your baby for longer, when your daughter or son has already become a real fatty.

Psst! Hear it!

Feel and hear for yourself! Just touch the pillow and you will be convinced. No other filling fits so perfectly around the body and gives such good support at the same time. Our original filling with micro-beads is sandy, quiet and adapts perfectly like no other filling. Because rustling noises do not only disturb you while sleeping, but your baby will also lie on it with his or her ears on ...

And after babyhood?

As with many other things too, high quality not only creates more attractiveness and a longer lifespan, but also makes the feeding pillow even more versatile. For example, the secure zipper of the original Theraline Feeding Pillow allows you to choose the filling for your favorite application or simply refill the pillow. And also the extra thick, wash-resistant cover ensures that you can still enjoy your pillow even after many years. Many families even buy a second or third Theraline pillow because everyone in the house wants a pillow for reading, flattening and relaxing.

Why is Theraline's original feeding pillow the number one pillow in Europe?

The pillow has many advantages. The pillow not only has the finest filling, but also beautiful quality covers with a good price/quality ratio. There are still suppliers who do not treat their pearl filling sufficiently - or in the case of particularly cheap products - at all against harmful evaporation. We strongly recommend that before buying a feeding pillow, you sniff it to rule out harmful substances. If the pillow smells slightly of plastic or glue, you should not buy the pillow. The Consumers' Association and ÖKO-TEST® have repeatedly warned against such pillows.
With us, on the other hand, you are not at risk: Theraline feeding pillows have always been fragrance-free and were the first pillows to be rated "very good" by ÖKO-TEST® for the pearl filling. And they still have the TÜV mark for controlled quality.

Care and washing

The pillow and cover made of 100% cotton can be washed up to 60°C. However, please note the label of the pillow and cover before washing. Warranty claims are voided if the pillow is not used with the cover or washed, because in the event of a defect, the filling can come out. You should also carefully check the pillow for any holes or broken seams before washing.
Tip: If you do not have a large enough laundry bag, you can also use the cover for this purpose. With new covers and bright colors, the colors may bleed slightly during washing and end up on the pillow. However, this does not reduce the usability.
Note: If you use a dryer, set it on the lowest setting and make sure the pillow has enough space. The pillow should be able to move freely in the washer and dryer. If necessary, remove some of the filling from the pillow (see below: "refill and empty"). Especially with a new pillow, this makes it easier to put it in the washing machine.
Tip: Wash covers inside out and with the zipper closed. Do not wash or dry together with otherwise colored laundry.
Caution:
Released filling material can affect the respiratory tract. Released filling material may damage your washing machine.

Tips for Quick Covering:

At the top of the pillow, hold up a 15-20 cm point. The filling will then fall all the way down into the lower part of the pillow. Now press the point you are holding all the way down into the cover. When you turn the pillow, hold the inner cover on the outside with one hand. After the stuffing has run into the bottom part, grab another point on the other side and slide the pillow all the way in to the end again. Now you just need to distribute the filling evenly over both pillow ends and then you can close the zipper.

The filling level of a pillow:

  1. Filling level approx. 70%: This is how the Theraline pillow is delivered.
  2. approx. 60 - 80%: recommended for support use
  3. approx. 50 - 70%: recommended when feeding, depending on body size
  4. approx. 40 - 60%: recommended when used as a bed frame or baby nest*

* CAUTION!

Theraline does not recommend use as a bed frame or baby nest before the end of the 12th month of life. Midwives and doctors are fundamentally against the use of a pillow in the baby's sleeping environment!

Refill and Empty:

Original Theraline with refill opening:
We recommend using a second person to fill the pillow outside in a sheltered place. If your Theraline feeding and support pillow has a refill opening, first pull out the zipper tab, which is in a tunnel for safety. Then a second person should hold the opening open for you. Fill the pillow carefully and slowly. It is important to push the zipper tab all the way back into the tunnel to prevent the filling from accidentally coming out.
Cushionwithout refill opening:
If you want to refill a cushion that has been sewn shut, you must first open the closing seam. This is best done with scissors with a sharp tip, e.g. nail scissors. Then you can refill the pillow in the same way as a pillow with a refill opening. Then you should carefully sew the cushion closed again so that the filling cannot come out.
